Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand 2020
We are very proud to say that our Leaping Hare Restaurant has been awarded the prestigious Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide 2020. Congratulations to our excellent head chef Simon Woodrow and his talented team for making it into the guide for the 21st year!
Wyken Hall Gardens
Our gardens are now closed for the colder months. Thank you to all who came to visit them this year. They will reopen in Spring 2020.
Wyken Farmers’ Market
We are all trying to reduce packaging, food miles and all waste. The farmers’ market goes a long way towards those aims. The coffee grounds in the Bullpen in the market go onto the compost heap along with the biodegradable coffee cups! Our weekly Farmers’ Market is on Saturdays 9am – 1pm.
Farms and restaurants are greedy users of energy. We devour a terrifying amount of electricity. We hope we can slash our energy bills and also help the planet because we have just installed ground mounted solar panels which will supply over one-third of our electricity. They are discreetly placed near the reservoir (thanks to East Green Energy in Suffolk) and all we want now is for the sun to shine.
Our Wyken home blend is exclusively made for us by Bury St Edmunds based coffee roasters Frank & Earnest. It is an ethically sourced blend of 60% Honduran, 30% Columbian and 10% Ethiopian beans. Hand roasted to create a deep, rich and smooth flavour, it is bright and fruity with notes of chocolate and caramel. Enjoy it in our Leaping Hare Restaurant and Café or grab a takeaway at our Bullpen on the Farmers’ Market each Saturday morning. If you love it as much as we do then you can also pick up a freshly roasted pack in our Country Store.
