A message to our customers and friends

With a heavy heart we have now closed The Leaping Hare at Wyken Vineyards.

This is a temporary closure. As soon as it is safe for our staff, our customers and our wider community, we will re-open.

We will stay in touch throughout this concerning time.

Please check our Wyken Vineyard Farmers’ Market Facebook page for up to date details on future market dates.

The gardens will be open free of charge from 1st April from 2pm to 5pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

We owe it to each other to stay safe, so please keep a reasonable distance from fellow visitors.

Please use the normal car park and walk up to the garden.

This is the hardest decision we have ever made, although the rapidly changing situation with Covid-19 has made it inevitable.

Thirty years ago Wyken was a typical arable farm in the heartlands of Suffolk. When we planted our vineyard in 1988 it was a bold decision against received wisdom,

and one made with incredible hope: that we could produce delicious wine in a region unknown for growing grapes.

In the three decades since, we have continued to make bold and hopeful decisions.

Hope is the bedrock of the creative community that now flourishes at Wyken.

While the decision to close now has been forced on us, it is nonetheless made with the same unflinching hope.

Dawn breaks on every horizon, no matter how dark it may seem. Spring is coming, and we will get through this.

We will soon enter the most beautiful time of the year.

In these trying times we are opening our garden free of charge.

Please visit us and continue to know Wyken as a place of peace, colour and hope.

The gardens will be open from 1st April from 2.00pm to 5.00 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

We owe it to each other to stay safe, so please keep a reasonable distance from fellow visitors.

Please use the normal car park and walk up to the garden.

With best wishes and hope from all at Wyken.

Kenneth and Carla Carlisle
